AT THE BEACH, czyli angielski na wakacjach

Ciepły piasek, bezchmurne niebo, przyjemny wietrzyk i zapach jodu w powietrzu - tak, dotarliśmy na plażę! No to... zaczynamy angielski:

  1. Can you feel the breeze and the small gusts of wind on you face?
  2. The sand feels so good on my feet.
  3. Roll up your trousers so they won't get wet.
  4. Can you smell the ocean/sea air? The seaside air is good for the health because it contains iodine. (BrE /aiodin/; AmE /aiodain/). It has respiratory benefits, it's good for your lungs and brain.
  5. Let's take a deep breath. / Breathe deep and smell the ocean air.
  6. Oh no! The wind blew off your sun hat! Let's catch it!
Widoki:
  1. Can you see the horizon/skyline? It's the apparent line which separates earth/water from sky.
  2. Look at this cloudless sky. I hope we didn't forget our sunshade. (= umbrella)
  3. Look how still the water is. The sea is really calm today.
  4. There are huge waves. Can you see how they're breaking?
  5. Sometimes when waves crash against the shore, they create sea/ocean/beach foam.
  6. Let's walk along the sandy beach ≠ shingly/rocky/pebble/stony/stoney beach.
  7. I can see a lighthouse in the distance. It's a special tower which emits light and marks a dangerous coastline. Thanks to lighhouses ships are safer.
  8. Look at this large flock of seagulls flying over the ocean.
  9. Let's visit the marina. We'll see lots of luxurious jachts /jo:ts/ in there.
  10. The pier /piə/ is a great place to take a walk.
  11. The beach is full of colourful beach screens/windscreens/windbreaks (BE)
windshields/windbreakers (AmE). I can hardly see the water.
  12. If we stay here a little bit longer, we will see a breathtaking sunset.

Opalanie się:
  1. We have to protect our skin from harmful UV rays. The sun's rays are especially strong from noon till 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
  2. Let's use the sunscreen(>50spf)/sunblock(50spf). I'll rub it all over your body.
  3. We don't want to get sunburned.
  4. Let's sit under the umbrella, the sun is too intense. / Good that we have some sunshade.
  5. Mommy is going to sunbath on a deckchair now. / I'm getting a tan.
  6. Please try not to throw the sand on the beach towel.
  7. We need to re-apply the sunscreen when you get out of water.
  8. You spent the whole day at the beach. Let's moisturize your skin with a special cream.

Zabawy w wodzie:
  1. Let's sit ashore in water and watch the waves. Look, after a wave breaks, it swashes (= przypływa), touches our feet and ebbs away (=odpływa).
  2. Let's plop pebbles into water. (=wrzucać z pluskiem)
  3. Come on! Let's jump in waves.
  4. Let's walk into water to check if it's warm.
  5. I don't want to swim, wading in the water is enough for me. (= brodzić)
  6. If you want to swim in the sea, you have to put your life jacket on / take your inflatable ring with you /put the water wings/armbands on.
  7. Oh no! Your inflatable beach/air mattress is floating away!
  8. We need to change your bathing/swimming suit/costume or swimming trunks.
  9. Let's rinse the sand in the water and then I'll dry you with a towel/wipe you dry.
  10. Would you like to eat something? Playing in water makes everyone hungry!

Dodatkowe aktywności, które umilą Wam czas na plaży i sprawią, że dzieciaki nie będą się nudzić:
  1. Would you like to play with the beach ball?
  2. Try flowing sand between your fingers. / Take a handful of sand and flow it through your fingers.
  3. Let's roll in the sand.
  4. Let's make sand angels.
  5. We can make pebble patterns on the beach.
  6. Look what I found! A shell. Would you like to collect more shells?
  7. Let's see if we can hear the sea inside the shell.
  8. I think I've found an amber. You can easily distinguish it from a stone because it's lighter and softer. Besides, stones feel colder than ambers.
  9. Shake off the sand from your clothes.

Niebezpieczeństwa:
  1. The sand heats up in the hot sun and it's a common cause of burns and blisters on your feet. Use the flip-flops if you feel it's too hot.
  2. The waves are too high. We can't get in the water now. It's too dangerous.
  3. Corals, Watch out! They can easily cut your feet.
  4. You need to take a sip of water. It's important to drink a lot on such hot days! We don't want you to get dehydrated.

Budujemy zamki z piasku:
  1. To make a sandcastle you need to fill the bucket with wet sand, flip it over and tap the bucket with a spade.
  2. We can try to dig a moat around our sandcastle. What do you think?
Jeśli jesteście fanami budowania zamków z piasku, poniżej fantastyczna instrukcja, dzięki której macie szansę stworzyć coś naprawdę imponującego. Jedno jest pewne, nie zabraknie Wam słów:

Na koniec ciekawostka. Czy słyszeliście już o Drip Sand Castle? Poniżej krótka instrukcja jak wykonać oryginalny zamek z piasku:

Po więcej słownictwa dotyczącego zabaw w piasku odsyłam do IN THE PLAYGROUND, czyli aktywności i sprzęty na placu zabaw.
